Local Business Transportation Service Goes Green
A local business transportation service is again leading the way with innovation and a customer-centric proposition to their corporate customers by offering low-carbon Hybrid vehicles.
MovementsUK have operated a chauffeur-driven Mercedes-Benz service since 1984. The company diversified its operation on 1st October 2009 launching iBusinessTaxi.com, a value-brand service aimed at stretching travel budgets that bit further. iBusinessTaxi.com signed a partnership agreement with Toyota GB utilising the Avensis Tourer models and now offers customers a two-tiered service based on requirements and budget.
On 1st March they took delivery of the 2010 Toyota Prius vehicle which is a true first for the industry in the Midlands region. The Prius will operate alongside the current Avensis fleet and will be a definite ‘must have’ for those eco-conscious multi-national clients. At 89 grams of carbon per kilometre, this vehicle discharges less than half the CO2 value of the average locally licensed taxi. Fuel averages for the Prius run up to 85mpg and road tax is ZERO. The vehicle is also exempt from the London Congestion Charge.
Founder and Managing Director, Bill Cregeen, is clearly ecstatic about this latest acquisition “because the Prius has very low operating costs, we are able to offer our business customers all of the convenience, safety and presentation benefits of a door-to-door chauffeured service, at a cost which is cheaper than a local taxi service. It expands the iBusinessTaxi fleet to meet growing customer demand and, as United Kingdom Plc really begins to switch-on to the renewable theme, will undoubtedly be a trendsetter which many will seek to follow”.
MovementsUK/iBusinessTaxi use an in-house web booking service developed over more than 10 years. The technology is a real tour de force with which they’re able to very quickly and very easily pinpoint trend changes and booking volumes in either service. Since the launch of iBusinessTaxi 1st October 2009, the value-brand side of the business has taken off with bookings for their iBusinessTaxi service outstripping the luxury brand 2 to 1.
The 2010 Prius comes business-ready with leather upholstery, air-conditioning and factory fitted navigation. Chargers for laptops, mobile phones and BlackBerry’s are standard on-board equipment.

Toyota GB have confirmed that our Avensis models are unaffected by the recall currently in the media spotlight.
Irrespective, our vehicles have received main dealer inspection which has confirmed that the newer accelerator mechanism is already factory installed on our models.
The new 2010 registration Prius scheduled for delivery 1st March has already received the necessary software update which corrects potential braking issues.
